I wasn’t expecting much good to come of yesterday.  It was just destined to be that kind of day, you know?

Then the day surprised me.  I love it when that happens.  It makes me feel like this:

I do have one guilty confession to make though.  I feel like I should announce it now, while I’m still riding the wave of good feelings that came from yesterday.

The crossing guard that I talked about a while ago… she’s gone.  She worked at the school down the road from the library all last year and for the first week of school this year, and now she’s vanished.  I know logically that she didn’t get fired because of me, but I still feel guilty about saying rude things about her.  I’m sorry, crossing guard lady!

Also, WordPress tells you how people get to your site.  They tell you what terms people search and which links they follow and all that jazz.  It makes me laugh, because almost every day, someone searches “crossing guard” and comes to my page through that search.  Some days, I get three or four of those poor people.

I hope that whoever you are, you aren’t horribly disappointed in my lack of helpful information about crossing guards.  If there’s a need for more information on that topic, I’d be happy to whip up some real research.  Maybe that’s the one topic that the internet doesn’t cover extensively (with lots of indisputable facts… gotta love the internet).   Or maybe there’s a touch of underlying angst against crossing guards in the hearts of millions of people.  Who knows.  I never suspected that crossing guards were such an interesting topic.
