Dog Costume Day!

I’m not a huge fan of Halloween, but there are a few things I like about it.  A lot.

  1. The Charlie Brown Halloween Special.  It’s good every time.
  2. Buying candy, even if no kids will stop at our door.  At Halloween, I get to pretend that buying candy is a kindness to children who live near us, not something selfish I’m doing because I like candy.
  3. The opportunity to dress my dog up in a ridiculous something or other (and get away with it for at least 5 minutes before dog or husband take said silly something off of the dog).

This is my favorite Peanut costume to date, the infamous Bumble Pea.  If you can’t tell from his face, he doesn’t like having extra things attached to his head.  He feels the same way about his dog Snuggie, which is his other “costume.”

If I wanted to spend money on costumes for Peanut (and if he hated costumes less), these would be some serious contenders:

Cesar Milan.  How awesome is that?!

If I ever get around to reading the Harry Potter series.

All I need to do for this one is get Peanut to roll around strategically in the paint for our kitchen redo.  White cabinets, meet Peanut.  Peanut, meet white cabinets.  He’s a lover, not a sprayer, so I think he might be Pepe Le Pew in this get-up.

This is my favorite.  If I lived in Louisiana, Mississippi, Florida, or a variety of states in which this type of beast lives, this would be the costume of choice every year.
