At Long Last

Well, I’m writing again.  Sort of.

I’m writing to say that I will someday start writing again.

Here’s what’s going on:

1) My new job requires that I work at turbo speed from the minute I step in the door to the minute I leave.  I hear that’s temporary, because I started the job during a busy season.  We’ll see.  The good news is that I like the work.  The bad news is that turbo speed leaves me pretty tired at the end of the day.

2) I’m too cheap to pay for internet at my house.  Which makes it difficult to blog.  Borrowing wireless from my neighbors is a very 30-seconds-at-a-time type of thing.

3) Wedding planning is way more intense than I expected.  It was my goal to do things simply and not stress out about anything.  But even with that goal constantly in mind, there are lists of lists of things to do.  My most comforting thought now is that if I somehow managed to fall asleep tonight and wake up the day before the wedding, everything would be okay.  With the ever-so-small exception of getting a marriage license, all the big stuff would be taken care of.  It makes the lists of lists more manageable when I remember that they’re good things, not essential things.

4) In addition to wedding planning, there are other new-life-with-Scott things to think about and prepare for.  I’ve cleared out closets and gotten rid of junk that I should have gotten rid of years ago.  Soon there will be kitchen rearranging to do and bank accounts to merge and all sorts of fun stuff like that.  Oh, and a name to change.

All of that to explain why I haven’t blogged lately.  I do intend to pick back up where I left off–probably sometime around September 15.  I’ll have pictures of engagement (wonderful pictures, still unshared), pictures of wedding fun, and maybe even a few pictures from Italy.  There might be some words, too.  Until then, I’m signing off.
